Wednesday’s at 8:30pm on 101.5 umfm Host(s): Tim Gray & Dan Huen The Gray Area of Comedy is a comedy show about comedic thin
gs. It features comedy by comedians for fellow comedy enthusiasts. Tompkins, Tom Rhodes, Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifinakis, Bill Hicks, Norm McDonald, Will Ferrel, Maria Bramford, Demetri Martin, Mike Birbiglia, Emo Phillips, Gregg Proops, Margaret Cho, Ellen Degeneres, Arj Barker, Eugene Mirman….. alright I’m going to level with you. This list is the tip of the iceburg in terms of the comedians I admire and respect in terms of the work they’ve produced. There are so many great comedians that have come before the Gray Area of Comedy that attempting to list them all will inevitably be a disservice to a few great comedians. AND there is NO way I’ll be able to do enough podcasts to fit all of my favourite comedians and still produce original work to stand in their shadow. So, take this list as a jumping off point. If you see a name you don’t recognize check ‘em out on youtube and see for yourself why they’ve capture a corner in my memory.
The podcasts themselves follow a structure similar to a late night talk show. We have sketches (some reoccurring and some one timers) that are interspersed with parody commercials, announcements and updates, interviews and sometimes music. This is Tim Gray’s craft but I have my co-writer Dan Huen and my brother, Stephen Gray, that help make the show what it is… So, you can either praise them or blame them haha.
Everything you see on this website and on the videos is the creation of the creative genius I have for a brother. Stephen Gray does all the web designs, filming, editing, etc. He is the stage to me show and I wouldn’t have any of this without his continued and overwhelming support. I love you Stevsies.
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated as long as it’s constructive and not destructive. Peace be with you,
Tim “Smells Funny” Gray
ps – In case you haven’t already noticed Dr. Dan Huen and I also do stand-up, sketch, and improv comedy.
And yes, we are both available for hire. Thanks for asking.
